Q - How many students are in each class?
A - The average class size is 25 students in grades 1 through 8. Kindergarten average class size is 18-20. Teaching Assistants are assigned to each class to support the teacher.
Q - What are the school hours?
A - The Leadership school day begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. for all students.
Q - Is transportation available for students?
A - Transportation to and from school is provided through the school district for students in grades 1 through 6 only. You are required to arrange transportation for students in Kindergarten, 7th and 8th grades.
Q - Are any programs available for students after school?
A - Yes. The Leadership after-school program is available for all students. Intensive academic reinforcement and engaging enrichment programs are provided Monday through Friday, 3:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
Q - Do the students wear uniforms?
A - Yes. The boys wear white oxford shirts, navy blue ties, and navy blue pants. The girls wear navy blue skirts or slacks and white button-down shirts, with a cross-bow tie. All students wear black shoes.
Q - What is the age requirement for Kindergarten?
A - A child must be 4 years old before September 1st to enroll in the 4 year old Kindergarten program. The age requirement for 5 Year Old Kindergarten is 5 years old before September 1st. Both Kindergarten grades are full day programs.
Q - Does LLPCS have a Summer Program?
A - Yes. Students can enroll in the LLPCS Summer Leadership Program in the following areas:
1. Intensive Academic Tutoring 2. Leadership Mentoring 3. Enrichment and Arts
Q - Are LLPCS teachers certified?
A - Yes. All LLPCS teachers are certified through the State of Pennsylvania in either Elementary or Secondary education. Additionally, all LLPCS staff participate in on-going training to ensure up-to-date knowledge in innovative teaching methods and strategies.
Q - Are computers accessible to students?
A - Yes. Technology is an integral component of the Leadership curriculum. All LLPCS students have access to computer programs that aid in instruction and reinforcement. Students use computers for keyboarding, internet searches, math skill building, language arts review, on-line tutoring and standardized test preparation. Additionally, beginning in 2006-2007, students will participate in Smart Technology Labs, [www.smarttech.com] that provide interactive learning through electronic whiteboards and laptop computers.
